"don't let your garden be an afterthought"
Communal roof garden
This garden was our greatest challenge because it was built on top of a car park which posed tremendous logistical and design obstacles that were successfully overcome. The depth of soil we were able to use was only 12 cm so in order to create space for taller plants and the central olive tree a series of brick raised beds were built. Plants include agapanthus, yucca, carex and many other ornamental grasses. A sedum carpet was planted in 2008 and has now knitted together wonderfully to create a blanket of colours.
